Hattie was a big black hen.
One morning she looked up and said
“Goodness gracious me!
I can see a nose in the bushes!”
海蒂是一只黑母鸡。
有一天，她抬头一看说：
“哎呀我的妈！
我看到草丛里有一个鼻子！”
“Good grief!” said the goose.
“Well well!” said the pig.
白鹅说：“天哪！”
小猪说：“好吧！”
“Who cares?” said the sheep.
“So what?” said the horse.
“What’s next?” said the cow.
绵羊说：“管它呢！”
马儿说：“那又怎样！”
奶牛说：“然后呢？”
And Hattie said
“Goodness gracious me!
I can see a nose and two eyes in the bushes!”
母鸡Hattie又说：
“哎呀我的妈！
我看见草丛里有一个鼻子和两只眼睛！ ”
“Good grief!” said the goose.
“Well well!” said the pig
“Who cares?” said the sheep.
“So what?” said the horse.
“What’s next?” said the cow.
白鹅说：“天哪！”

And Hattie said
“Goodness gracious me!

and a tail in the bushes!
It’s a fox! It’s a fox!”
And she flew very quickly into a nearby tree.
母鸡Hattie说：
“哎呀我的妈！
我看到灌木丛里有一个鼻子，
两只眼睛，两只耳朵，
一个身体，四条腿，还有一条尾巴！
是狐狸！是狐狸！”
她飞快地钻进附近的树里。
“Oh, no!” said the goose.
“Dear me!” said the pig
“Oh, dear?” said the sheep.
“Oh, help?” said the horse.
白鹅说：“哦，不！”
小猪说：“我的天哪！”
绵羊说：“天哪！”
马儿说：“救命！”
But the cow said,”Moo!”
so loudly
that the fox was frightened and ran away.
不过，奶牛大叫“哞——”
奶牛的叫声太吓人了，
吓得狐狸拔腿就跑。
And they were all so surprised
that none of them said anything
for a very long time.
