Its Christmastime, and Max and Ruby are decorating the tree. Max wants to help by hanging his toys on the branches, but Ruby says they dont belong. For every ornament that Ruby hangs, Max hangs a toy. Then Ruby realizes she forgot to add the tree topper! Will one of Maxs toys be just what she needs?

This story, based on an episode in the A Merry Bunny Christmas DVD, was originally released as the over-sized boardbook Max & Rubys Christmas Tree. The storyline is the same in all three formats: Ruby wants to decorate the tree with traditional decorations, and Max wants to use his toys. For example, he uses a stuffed snake for garland, and gummy worms as tinsel. The tree is eventually decorated with a mix of the two styles. Unfortunately, Ruby forgot to put the star on, so Max comes to the rescue with his usual unconventionalism.
